First step would be acceptance and reflection for both. Second step would be to take a minute and put yourself in the other persons shoes and lastly, make sure to respect the other person.
1) Accept the situation. e.g. I am working now in M&A and currently there is a huge conflict with a colleague from another office. Can we replace the colleague from the project? Or should I just learn to collaborate to achieve the bigger goal 2) Conflicts and the lack of communication leading to longer working hours for the rest of the team 3) No clear ownership of goals, roles and responsibilities leading to conflict on the project 4) Not having everyone on the same page leading to extra work being done for the client.
I tried to link this question to a current situation which I have to deal with.
1) Their reaction 2) Lack of empathy and respect for other team members 3) Fearing failure - that maybe the confrontation may lead to further issues than resolutions 4) Too many meetings without a result as the person is absolutely stubborn
Not everyone is on the same page always. But through Communication , Communication and Communication (3Cs) and 'Empathy' you can win over people. People are not wrong its just different perspectives and you should bring to the table whatever helps in a situation. So 'solve the problem by understanding the question, don't try to solve without understanding the question'.
